Over the 40 years of studying various martial arts, Capoeira was my first. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art, whose martial aspects are hidden in song, dance, and music. The quintessential instrument (and on occasion a weapon) is the berimbau [beh-rhee-mbow], a string percussion instrument.
In this video I finally get a chance to make this instrument from a stick and a gourd.
