Lower Zambezi National Park is in southern Zambia, on the Zimbabwean border. The Park lies opposite the famous Mana Pools Reserve in Zimbabwe, so the entire area on both sides of the Zambezi River is a massive wildlife sanctuary.
Enormous herds of elephants are often seen at the river’s edge. ‘Island hopping’ buffalos and waterbucks are common. The park also hosts abundant bird life and good populations of lions and leopards, as well as large numbers of hippos and crocodiles.
