Stream aquarium update

Update as promised, sorry it took so long!

Just came back from Thailand a week so I have added a bunch of new fish. All caught in Phuket and Phang Nga. I also brought a bunch of waterweed from Phuket. That really added a nice greenery to the front view, and maybe, just maybe a couple of fry from the Danios, Devarios or Rasboras will be able to survive in it. The goal with this tank was always to get the fish to reproduce in it, but so far I haven’t had any success at all.

The waterweed came from the same location in Bang Tao where I caught the Trichopsis vittata that you can see swimming around in it. I wasn’t sure they would be able to survive, but they keep close to the plants and seem happy enough.

Apart from that I’ve done a couple of changes to the layout:

1: I’ve added lots of sand to the mid-section to create a shallow area with faster flow. I’ve done some experimenting with even more sand, but I think this is a nice balance. The sand is also deep enough that the waterfall can come down in it without exposing the bottom glass, which I like a lot.

2: The Philodendron had to go. It started to die, and never recovered to its old beauty. I hope that the new Monstera can take its place.
