1) Solar photovoltaic
2) Solar thermal power plant

Solar photovoltaic cells are made of semiconductors like silicon.
Solar photovoltaic converts direct sunlight into electric energy.
electricity generated is Direct current(DC) and can be used directly for the applications

In solar thermal power plants, radiation from sunlight is converted to thermal energy to boil the water to generate high-velocity steam.
The steam is used to rotate the turbine, which drives the generator to produce the electricity.
