We went to sleep under clear skies but woke up directly in the middle of a thunderstorm. Our tent survived the driving rain, but the thunder and lightning shook the ground beneath us and lit up the walls as if it was day for the next several hours. LISTENING TO THE STORM IN PITCH DARKNESS, with flashes of lightning to break our night vision.
