Ladakh’s prominent climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has been jailed under the National Security Act (NSA) following violent protests demanding statehood for Ladakh and inclusion in the Sixth Schedule, which left four dead.

In an exclusive interview with Barkha Dutt, his wife Gitanjali Angmo speaks out, explaining why she has approached the Supreme Court with a habeas corpus petition, calling Wangchuk’s arrest illegal, opaque, and a violation of due process.

While authorities allege Wangchuk incited violence and maintained links with a Pakistani intelligence officer, Angmo claims this is a smear campaign aimed at silencing Ladakh’s struggle for rights.
