Kawempe North by-election flag bearer for the National Unity Platform, Elias Nalukoola Luyimbazi, has allayed fears from a section of the party supporters regarding his endorsement, attributing the dissent to perceptions of a disconnect between his political background and the grassroots identity of the party. Nalukoola, who says the statements made were meant to belittle his candidature, remains undeterred, stating that the vetting process vindicated his candidacy.
