My first project for Fark the Electric Jester following the game’s rebranding as Spark 2. I have to say, I immediately fell in love with Technoria City when I first heard it—in fact, it reminds me a bit of Lightoria Bay from the first game. Anyway, I decided on using Control Was Lost, but underestimated how much I would have to improvise for the project—that is to say, CWL only has about a minute and 30 seconds of lyrics, while a full loop of Technoria City is almost 3 minutes long. Before even starting the project, I did a lot of searching for the original sample used in CWL in the hopes that I’d find additional lyrics, but I didn’t have any luck. So, after letting CWL play normally (relatively) for the first minute of the project, I had to start messing around with the songs progression, or, “verse shenanigans” as I like to call it. This included crossing within the same verse as well as alternating between the first and second verses. In that regard, this was definitely the most intensive manipulation of lyrics I’ve had to do, but it was definitely a good learning experience.

Spark 2’s OST hasn’t been officially released. I ripped TC from the game for this and looped it personally (I’ll likely post this track). As such, I don’t have any of the metadata for the song (i.e. I have no idea who composed TC).
