EP 6 : Flight 2 of 2 - EL Bosque - Graham Lee - Niviuk Ikuma 3 (Final Flight)

The Niviuk Ikuma 3 is a high B class wing. My last wing was a low B class and the difference between them is vast. Not only do they have differing flying characteristics, the inflation and launching is also very different. The wing tips are very lively during high wind inflations, inflating from either a rosette or horseshoe or just pull in the tips so they don't catch the wind and pull up before the middle does. The wing doesn't want to come up fast which ever way its launched, its very controlled just keep the tips from launching first unless you are cobra launching or out of the power zone, or in moderate wind. I still need more flights to fully understand the wing but these few flights I quickly get comfortable, even though the feedback was much greater. The sensations at first made me feel concerned, being mid weight my worry was being too light. The increased feeling of the surrounding air felt soft and floaty adding to my worry of being too light. After a few flights and rougher conditions I realised the wing was absorbing everything. My worry about being too light soon faded and I started to enjoy and settle into this new sensitive ride. The performance exceeds the Hook 6 my last wing. Its faster more agile, its more efficient in glide. I need more flights to comment on the stability but so far it been good . Overall I'm really happy to move up a class and extremely happy with the wing.

I hope you enjoy this video, there are a few encounters with the majestic vultures I get quite close and feel so lucky to have had this experience. Algodonales is a great place to fly, its normally flyable all year round but conditions can sometimes be extreme so be aware if you are going.
