Bassline AS PLAYED on the original recording by Jimi Hendrix's great Bass Player, Billy Cox.
Billy Cox has always been one of my favorite Bass Players for his tone and for his soulful, funky style.
I purchased this Hendrix LP, 'Cry of Love' when it was released--while I was a student in junior high school, and I literally wore it out. More recently I purchased 'Cry of Love' by Hendrix in the audio CD format so I can continue enjoying listening to every song on this remarkable work by Jimi Hendrix.
***Note! my bass TUNING is tuned 'down' to: Eb - Ab - Db - Gb ***

*****The tone of my bass: My Expert Guitar Luthier, Master Luigi Spezzacatena, of southern Italy, attached a used, genuine vintage 1960 Sprague tone capacitor (value = 0,1mdf) to the electronics (and removed the cheap, tiny, factory-issued capacitor and threw it in the bin) of my Fender Roadworn Jazz Bass so as to create a 60's tone, while I have worked with the knobs on my bass and amp to attain a flat, yet punchy tone with both bass pickup volumes on 8 and the tone in the middle. The bass in this video is a 2012 Fender Jazz Bass Roadworn (purchased at Sam Ash, Phoenix, Arizona) with six year old Ernie Ball slinky flatwound strings and playing through a small 60 watt Marshall amp with the Bass tone is at the 2 o'clock position, the Midrange just before the 3 o'clock position, and the Treble tone at the 3 o'clock position.
