Development Update 5.3:
Strafe animations (standing up and crouching).
Prone Mechanic
Adjustments to some animations.
Changed my approach to animation management and made it more flexible for future expansions and additions.
It was an excessive amount of learning and applying concepts with countless failures, errors, restarts, and adjustments. So far, I have managed to reach an acceptable animation system for when the player is unarmed.
It was a huge help to understand the animation controller in Unity even further and knowing how to use Blend Tree features. Next up will be adding a prototype weapon with its own animations as well before diving deeper into advanced weapon handling programming, and adding features such as weapon switching and weapon inventories, etc.
I expect the upcoming devlogs to have a slower pace since the next steps are all-new to me and I have zero experience with them in my past experience of Unity. Let's hope it'll be yet another quick milestone that doesn't take much to wrap my head around!
