While rolling through Oak Park today, I stumbled upon this truck that I thought was just an ordinary LR on yard waste, but after further investigation, I realized that this was the elusive LRS electric truck! I first learned about this when a good buddy sent me a picture of it at a parade a couple weeks back and I didn’t exactly know if LRS even ran the thing. I would have assumed it came out of the LRS yard in Chicago but instead it must be out of Maywood. It is still crazy to me how quiet the truck can be when driving, but I suppose that will become more normal as electric trucks grab on more. The truck being louder while it was just idling with the PTO on as opposed to driving was kind of funny. I’m not so sure if LRS is buying more of these actively, I believe the driver said it was about $600,000 so I don’t exactly think that they will but I wouldn’t be surprised if more of these turn up.  at some point I’ll have to go back and get some more footage, but yard waste was pretty light today so this is all I got. Enjoy one of the first electric trucks running in the Midwest.
