पीसीएस ज्योति मौर्य की शादी अलोक मौर्य के साथ 10 साल पहले हुई थी. ज्योति मौर्य का आरोप है, "आलोक मौर्य ने बताया था कि वो ग्राम पंचायत अधिकारी है लेकिन वो एक सफाई कर्मचारी थे. इसके बाद मैं अब आलोक मौर्य से तलाक ले रही हूं." वहीं आलोक मौर्य ने आरोप लगाया है कि उनकी पत्नी ज्योति मौर्य उनकी हत्या करवाना चाहती है. इसकी शिकायत उन्होंने प्रयागराज में थाने में की है.
