🇳🇱 CURRENT NEWS: Defective track and delays around Geldermalsen: 's-Hertogenbosch - Leiden 20/8/2025

The life of a train driver is never boring! This video proves it again. Last weekend, ProRail received so many reports from train drivers about track subsidence on the 's-Hertogenbosch - Geldermalsen route that they decided to impose a speed restriction along most of the line. In this video, you can clearly see how the train sways back and forth. At 15:40, I encounter an E-sign that suggests it applies to all traffic, but is only intended for diverging trains. I reported this to ProRail the next day, and the sign has since been installed a bit further along the branch line. It's great that I contributed to safety! Later, I receive a European Instruction because of another subsidence, this time at Culemborg. At Vaartsche Rijn, a passenger doesn't disembark until the departure procedure has already started; his bicycle gets caught in the door. This causes further delays. Today is Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Hop on board and ride with me on the 6000 series train. Along the way, we'll stop at Zaltbommel, Geldermalsen, Culemborg, Houten Castellum, Houten, Lunetten, Vaartsche Rijn, Utrecht Central Station, Leidsche Rijn, Terwijde, Vleuten, Woerden, Bodegraven, Alphen aan den Rijn, Leiden Lammenschans, and Leiden Central Station. Het leven van een machinist is nooit saai! Dat blijkt ook in deze video weer. Afgelopen weekend zijn er zo veel meldingen van machinisten bij Prorail binnen gekomen van spoorverzakkingen op het traject 's-Hertogenbosch - Geldermalsen, dat men heeft besloten over het grootste deel van de lijn een snelheidsbeperking in te stellen. In deze film zie je goed hoe de trein heen en weer wiebelt. Bij 15:40 kom ik een E-bord tegen die de suggestie wekt dat deze geldt voor alle verkeer, echter alleen voor afbuigende treinen bestemd is. Dit heb ik de volgende dag bij Prorail gemeld en inmiddels is het bord een stukje verder op de aftakking geplaatst. Leuk dat ik heb bijgedragen aan de veiligheid! Later krijg ik nog een European Instruction vanwege nòg een verzakking, nu bij Culemborg. Op Vaartsche Rijn stapt een reiziger pas uit als de vertrekprocedure al is gestart, zijn fiets komt tussen de deur. Dit levert weer extra vertraging op.
Het is vandaag woensdag 20 augustus 2025. Stap in en rijd met me mee op treinserie 6000.
