when Mac first launched, they were based in Canada and the majority of their products were made in Canada. When larger companies that have their own manufacturing facilities acquire brands, like @The Estée Lauder Companies did with @maccosmetics, they typically slowly transition some of the formulas to their own facilities. That is why you may see differences in brand formulas once they take on new ownership, at around or after about 18 months goes by. It’s generally for the best as the newer owners will either improve the formulation or make it more competitive.
