A day in Phnom Penh. Morning at Tube Coffee on the riverside. Coffee for me, wildberry tea for Gabriel, and a quiet table looking out over Sisowath Quay while we caught up on edits. Reviews call it one of the best spots for a view without the tourist prices.
Then we stopped at Marie Vintage Thrift and Marie Jewellery. Marie’s collection is a mix of retro jackets, denim, and her own jewellery line that blends Khmer design with modern minimalism. Proper curated finds, not fast fashion and the nicest staff.
Late afternoon at La Langka Lane. A tucked-away street lined with bars and bistros that fills up with locals and expats after dark. Small, lively, and a good spot for a glass of wine before dinner.
Dinner at a new khmer restaurant in town, Houb Houb. We were treated to a full tasting: lok lak, banana blossom salad, spring rolls, Khmer coffee, fresh coconut, fish amok, Khmer red curry, and their famous tiramisu. Every dish felt like a modern take on Khmer classics. The staff made us feel at home, and the owner’s generosity set the tone. We can’t wait to go back.
If you’ve tried Khmer food we’d love to hear what you thought.
If you’ve ever thought about moving to Phnom Penh, this one’s for you. If you have any questions or want to share your experience of Phnom Penh, , comment below, we would love to hear from you!
Stay tuned for more...
love, 🙏

ABOUT 'LIFE IN CAMBODIA' SERIES:
Life in Cambodia is a raw and real vlog series documenting our journey of moving from Australia back to my family’s homeland, Cambodia. 36 years ago, my family left Cambodia, starting over with nothing. Now, decades later, I’ve left behind my old life to reconnect with my roots, rebuild from scratch, and explore what it means to be diaspora children living between two worlds.
Through these vlogs, we're sharing the unfiltered reality of life abroad, healing from intergenerational issues, and the beauty and challenges of finding a home in a place our family were forced to leave behind.
Whether you’re curious about moving to Cambodia, life as a diaspora kid, or simply love real, unscripted travel stories, this series is for you.
