Biligiri Rangana Betta (BR Hills)

Location: Chamarajanagar District, Karnataka, India
Altitude: Around 5,091 feet (1,550 meters) above sea level
Range: Border between Eastern and Western Ghats

Description:
Biligiri Rangana Betta, commonly known as BR Hills, is a unique hill range where the Eastern and Western Ghats meet, creating a biodiversity hotspot. The name "Biligiri" means "white hill" in Kannada, referring to the mist that often covers the peaks or the white rock face visible from afar.

Atop the hill stands the ancient and sacred Biligiri Ranganathaswamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Ranganatha (a form of Vishnu). It is an important pilgrimage site, especially for the local Soliga tribal community, who hold a special bond with this hill and its deity.

The K Gudi Temple is a small, serene shrine in the forest, surrounded by towering trees and chirping birds. The place is peaceful and ideal for nature lovers and wildlife photographers.
