Q: How do you skip the intro?
A: Hold escape when it asks you to press a button to continue. If you're on console, it will be a console-specific button instead.

Q: How do you break rocks so fast?
A: I use my mouse's scroll wheel which I set to have the same action as left-click in the game settings. The same applies to right-click.

Q: Why doesn't your food level drop?
A: If you eat while your food level is below 100, it can go above 100. The level constantly drops but the visual doesn't move as long as it's 100 or above.

Q: How did you enter that wreck without glitching?
A: The opening to the wreck with the laser cutter fragments is passable until the Aurora explodes. Before then, we can go through without clipping or glitching.

Q: How did you descend through the Lost River without a vehicle?
A: 2 high-capacity oxygen tanks, 1 standard oxygen tank, and lots of practice. Don't bother with this if you're a new speedrunner since it saves less than 30 seconds over the standard method of making a base to die and respawn with full oxygen.

Q: Why do you build empty bases / deconstruct the hatch?
A: Entering a base saves the inventory so it's not lost when I die. If I don't want to respawn at that base I deconstruct the hatch.

Q: How do you know when the Aurora is going to explode?
A: The first radiation warning you get from your PDA happens between 9:12 and 16:00 after the start of the game. Multiply that time by 5x to get when the explosion will happen. Because I can't finish the game before the explosion without glitches, I was going for a warning time 9:45 or less (about 1 in 12 chance).

Q: Why do you build the Cyclops?
A: The Cyclops is the only place you can build the shield generator needed to finish the rocket. The Cyclops has no other purpose in this run.

Q: Can you do that again without dying?

Q: How many attempts did this take?
A: I've done around 3000 attempts (excluding practice). I've had fun running this in the past but this might be my last one.
