EQUILIBRIUM – Bloodwood Reaction | First Time Hearing This Folk Metal BANGER!

Today I’m reacting to EQUILIBRIUM – “Bloodwood”, the brand-new single from Germany’s folk metal legends! This is my first time hearing Equilibrium, and I had no idea what to expect—what I got was an epic mix of folk melodies, symphonic layers, crushing riffs, and powerful vocals that blew me away.

Equilibrium has been pushing the boundaries of folk and pagan metal since their formation in 2001, blending black metal, melodic death metal, and symphonic atmospheres with a cinematic, larger-than-life style. Their latest single Bloodwood (2025, via Nuclear Blast Records) is a perfect showcase of their evolution, combining traditional folk influences with modern metalcore and industrial elements.

The track is packed with intensity—riffs that hit hard, soaring melodies that transport you straight into a mythical forest, and growls that shake your soul. For me, this first listen to Equilibrium feels like stepping into an entirely new world of metal. If you’re a fan of bands like Finntroll, Korpiklaani, Eluveitie, Turisas or Wintersun, you need to hear this one.
