In this short video our host, Patrick Hanaway, mentions a few keywords for us to redefine how we relate to nature, how we view it, but mostly how we connect with it. EXCHANGE is one of those keywords. He reminds us that in any relationship with ANY living being, an exchange is needed when moving from viewing plants as things to honoring them as BEINGS.
I’ve been an environmentalist for over twenty years, and even though I have heard some of these ideas before, Patrick’s words profoundly resonated with me in the way they were put together. They touched my heart, not my mind.
