In this reaction, I explore the life-changing journey of becoming a Gurkha! These young elite warriors from Nepal are known for their remarkable dedication, with only 4% of applicants making it into the British military. This was my first time learning about the Gurkhas and the unbearable challenges they had to face daily to achieve this dream.

Leaving their families and friends behind, risking everything they have, these young men show unremarkable determination towards achieving the ranks of the British Army. Most come from less fortunate living areas and farming communities, where becoming a Gurkha is a true path to a successful, well-paid career with a true sense of purpose to the world, their families, and themselves.
