Here are the campaign songs used by some of the 1964 presidential candidates during the primaries and general election! Lyndon B. Johnson succeeded to the presidency after President John F. Kennedy's assassination and was elected on his own terms in 1964, winning in a landslide against Senator Barry Goldwater. During the Republican primaries, Senator Magaret Chase Smith became the first woman to seek the presidential nomination of a major political party. Other notable candidates not included in the video were Governor Nelson Rockefeller, Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge Jr., and Governor George Wallace.
