On 12/15/2023 the Bay Colony Railroad ran its last train on the Watuppa Branch between New Bedford and Westport, MA. This marked the last train after 41 years of operation. The Mass Coastal Railroad purchased the Bay Colony this month so the line will still be in operation to serve customers.
