Answer to the many questions asked about the first version:
The Girl is Amber. She is the girl of the scientist who created Mewtwo. Her father's trying to clone her because she dead. Unfortunately her clone dies as well the other three Pokemon "test".
This is a scene only released in Japan. Which explains why some have never seen it.
