Happiness Type 1 vs. Type 2
The 7 practices from Yale’s The Science of Well-Being:
1)Savoring — share the moment, notice your luck, keep a small souvenir/photo, and stay present
2) Gratitude — 5 items nightly for 7 nights; write them down and picture each one
3) Random Acts of Kindness — 7 extra kind acts this week; note what you did each day
4) Social Connection — one genuine new connection daily; take an hour with someone you care about
5) Exercise — ~30 minutes daily to move your body and lift your mood
6) Sleep — aim for 7+ hours on at least four nights; practice good sleep hygiene
7) Meditation — at least 10 minutes a day; build the attention “muscle” you’ll use later
Your 7-Day Challenge
Put the practices into action for one week. Track what you did each day and how you felt—brief notes are enough.
