As magical as this national park can be, but without summer crowds. In January 2023, I spent a couple cold days and a frozen night along the Grand Canyon's South Rim, sleeping in the snowy Mather Campground. From the various overlooks in Grand Canyon Village to the viewpoints along Hermit Road (which only allows private vehicles in winter months), I did my best to photograph and film the beauty and color of this incredible place.
With the sheer amount of ice and snow on the rocky ground, I avoided longer hikes into the canyon on this trip, opting to stay nice and warm doing my own DIY driving tour.
