KITCHENAID DIME TEST | Stand Mixer Height Adjustment

The Kitchenaid Dime Test is simple way to check and see if you stand mixer needs an adjustment to the height so it mixes your ingredients properly. A dime placed in the bottom of your tilt-head mixer with the paddle attachment in place should slowly move around the bottom of the bowl in ¼”-½” increments. If the arm is too high, the dime doesn’t move at all. If it’s too low, it will hit the dime constantly.

While this video shows how to adjust a tilt-head mixer, adjusting a mixer with a lift bowl is very similar once you have located the screw used for adjusting the mixer.
