Robert Muczynski is an American composer of Polish descent. He studied composition under the Russian composer Alexander Tcherepnin, and dedicated this set of 6 Preludes to his teacher.
Muczynski taught at DePaul University, Loras College, and at Roosevelt University, before eventually settling in Tucson, Arizona. During his life in Arizona, Muczynski became a resident composer for the University of Arizona and chairman of its composition department.
