October 7th - One Year Memorial In Chicago on TAPED WITH RABBI

October 7, 2024 marked one year since Hamas-led militants killed 1,200 people, including 46 Americans by attacking residents of Israel and concert goers at the Nova Music Festival.
In remembrance of that day, the Jewish community gathered in Skokie standing with the Israeli people.
U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Illinois) spoke in solidarity with the Jewish at the event, among other dignitaries and community leaders, calling for all hostages to be freed and for peace in the Middle East.
“Oct. 7 is a day that seared our souls and shattered our hearts,” Schneider said.
Among others who spoke was Abby Polin. Her nephew, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, was one of 230 people taken hostage in Israel. After being held for 11 months, the 23-year-old was found murdered in an underground tunnel in Rafah, along with five other hostages.
“No other family should have to go through this. A full year is way too long. This should not have happened at all,” Polin said. “Even though we’re still coming off of mourning for Hersh, we feel very strongly and the majority of the world, we have to do everything we can to get remaining 101 hostages out as soon as possible.” Her mother Leah Polin, Hersh's grandmother, spoke passionately as well. Yinam Cohen, Consul General of Israel to the Midwest, as well as Lonnie Nasatir, President of JUF also addressed the hundreds and hundreds of attendees.
As we know, dozens of the hostages taken by Hamas were at the Nova Music Festival. Shahar Gabay was one of those who was at the festival, and miraculously escaped and survived, though his friends were murdered. He was also one of the guests at the event.
