A Journey to the Sacred Heart of China

Dennis Merritt presented on Jungian psychology and the environment at his second International Conference of Jungian Psychology and Chinese Culture in Qingdao China recently. A Chinese sense of the sacred in nature was witnessed on a tour to the Qingdao Mt Lao Taoist Site honoring the Chinese sage Lao Tzu and the Baotu Spring in Shandong Provence, “the number one spring under heaven.” The leading Buddhist figure in China addressed the group at the Lingyan Temple in Shandon Provence. A visit to the Dai Temple in Tai ‘an city preceded a hike to the top of Mt. Taishan, home to the Mother God of China, believed to be the sacred center of China by many Chinese.
