Permaculture is a forward-thinking design system based on principles found in nature. Its purpose is to create living environments that are harmonious, sustainable, and productive; while greatly reducing the work and energy required to maintain them.

Any garden designed with Permaculture principles, that is, it emulates patterns in nature, by definition, is a Permaculture garden.

Organic Farming promotes the use of natural fertilizers, making use of the natural carbon cycle so that waste from plants becomes the food of another. Permaculture brings the production of food closer to consumers and the consumer's wastes back into the cycle.
