Metal Planer Restoration 47: Hand and Power Scraping the Dovetails on the Clapper Box Cross Slide of off my 1890's vintage New Haven Metal Planer. I show how to scrape both sides of the dovetail flat using the cross slide as a standard on one side and a straight edge on the other side. I also show how to measure the parallelism of the two dovetails using gauge pins and a micrometer.
