In the spirit of RMB’s Talent Unlocked ethos, this video highlights the extraordinary journey of the iThemba Youth Choir — a group of young singers from Khayelitsha whose talent, discipline, and commitment made an immediate impact on our team.
As we prepared for RMB Starlight Classics in Cape Town 2025, we encountered this remarkable choir. For many, it would be their first time performing with microphones, with a full orchestra, and on a stage of this scale — and we wanted to set them up for success.
Through a dedicated workshop process with the creative team, the choir embraced every challenge — learning new music, developing stagecraft, and unlocking confidence they didn’t know they had.
From humble beginnings in 2021 with just seven members, the choir has now grown to over 50 — and their performance at RMB Starlight Classics marked a powerful milestone in their evolving journey.
