Inside the Smoke House - what happens in a fire

The Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service has something called a Smoke House, which is an inflatable room that has synthetic smoke pumped into it. The idea is it shows people the dangers of smoke when a room fills so quickly in a fire.
As you will see, visibility quickly becomes nearly zero. This makes people disorientated and is one reason people struggle to escape from homes during a fire.
The Smoke House is taken to various public shows, and up to 12 people at a time are taken inside and shown what happens when it fills with smoke.
