The Michigan Malleable Iron Company was founded in Detroit but moved to Delray in 1898. The company was closed by 1960; by then, Delray was a different place than when it had opened. The City of Detroit continued to build more dirty industry here, later clearing half the neighborhood for a bridge to Canada.
