The hike to Avalanche Peak is a MUST DO if you love the outdoors! The scenery, the trail, the wildlife and the beautiful fresh air make it an incredible walk to do. It's a steep trail so make sure you take plenty of water, food and layers for the cold up top! I recommend completing this trail during the warmer and dryer seasons because it can be dangerous towards the top if you are not careful.
Once you are in Arthurs Pass village, take a short walk up the road and out towards the river to find the beginning of the track. Here is the link to the starting location to help you - Hike Location
Side note: There are two different tracks that take you to the top. I took 'Scots Route' but you can also take 'Avalanche Peak Route'. More information is this link here - Hike Information
