Documenting my ceramics journey and slow living on the Suffolk coast.
After several days drying, the first pieces are ready for their bisque firing, my first chance to see how different forms and textures respond to heat.
From there, I move onto glazing: testing commercial glazes, underglazes, and oxides, recording each trial as a step towards understanding how clay and surface interact.
The kiln opens to revelations. Some glazes pool and break over texture, others leave warmth along the edges; all teaching me what holds, what shifts, and what needs to be tried again.
These results carry me forward, towards something more intentional, combining digital design with hand-building in the next piece.
This is a visual diary of beginnings: learning slowly, testing, failing, adjusting. A quiet record of making, and of being shaped by the materials and the coast around me.
Thank you for being here.
