Ex-NFL Football Player Michael Oher Blindsided by Discovery Tuohys Not Adoptive Parents Suing Couple

Just when I was starting to believe there was some good in the world, thanks in no small part to the Battle of Montgomery, here goes that folding chair called life smacking me upside the head with a dose of reality.

According to published reports, retired NFL player Michael Oher, whose life story was the basis of the movie The Blind Side, recently discovered (recent as in February of this year) that he was not officially adopted by the Tuohys who took him in as a teen.

He attests in court documents that after he turned 18, the Tuohys tricked him into signing a document making them his conservators which gave them the legal authority to make business deals in his name.

(I swear conservatorships are surely the devis doings)

So basically he alleges that they stole his NIL (Name Image and Likeness) as he states that he has not received “not one penny” for a story “that would not have existed without him but has made millions for the Tuohys.

The Blind Side received two Academy Award nominations including Best Picture in 2020. Sandra Bullock won an Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of Leigh Anne Tuohy.

The film grossed $300 million worldwide.

Following the revelation of the allegations Tuohys have issued a statement saying they are “devastated” over said allegations.

Ugh, why can’t we ever have nice things?!
