Nintendo has been overly aggressive towards Palworld in trying to shut down them down, which to be fair is clearly inspired by Pokémon but it backfired on them spectacularly. Nintendo released their latest Pokemon game "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" and it's terrible.
Some fans might have had negative reactions to how certain Pokémon were categorized or designed in the various generations, especially as new regions introduced new creatures that deviated from classic Pokémon aesthetics.
