How to Move a Peloton Bike Plus (Step-by-Step Guide)

Hi everybody, this is Jason from IN & OUT Moving Company Toronto. Today, we're going to show you how to prepare a Peloton Plus bike for moving. Depending on your model, some parts may detach slightly differently. We’ve also made another video showing you how to remove the monitor by detaching the bolt, which is a slightly more efficient method.

Things You'll Need:

A Phillips screwdriver or Phillips drill bit (the screwdriver is recommended for novices).

A flathead screwdriver (optional but helpful).

Moving pads (you can also use blankets or cloth drop sheets).

Professional-grade moving stretch wrap (or moving tape/kitchen-grade Saran Wrap).


Steps to Prepare the Bike:

1. Unplug the Machine
Unplug the machine from both ends and organize the wires.


2. Unplug the Monitor
Locate the small latch hooked on the left side of the monitor. If it’s stuck, use a flathead screwdriver to carefully loosen it. Unplug the two wires by pulling them downward.


3. Remove Plastic Covers (Optional)
There are plastic covers over the bolts. Although we won’t be removing the bolts, consider removing these covers to prevent them from falling off during transportation.


4. Access the Monitor Screws
To access the screws holding the monitor in place, remove the plastic cover on the back of the monitor that says "Peloton." You may need a flathead screwdriver to pry it off carefully. Once removed, you’ll see four screws.


5. Detach the Monitor
Decide whether to use a screwdriver or drill to remove the screws. It’s highly recommended to have someone assist you at this stage. Once the screws are removed, the monitor will no longer be attached to the base and could fall. Place the monitor on a padded surface to protect it.


6. Secure Hardware
After removing the four screws, washers, and backplate, keep all the hardware together. Secure them to the handlebars using stretch wrap or tape to ensure they don’t get lost.


7. Protect the Machine
Wrap the bike with a moving pad, ensuring it’s tightly secured. Use stretch wrap or tape to hold the pad in place. If you’re carrying the bike down stairs, you might leave the base exposed to improve your grip.


8. Bundle Components
Wrap the backplate and cords with the Peloton bike for easy transportation.
