In this video, I take the 1865 Carbine through a full mastery challenge in Hunt: Showdown 1896. The 1865 Carbine is one of the most deceptive medium ammo rifles in the game — it looks great on paper with massive 145 base damage, but its incredibly low bullet velocity holds it back from reaching true potential. With variants including the standard iron sight, aperture scope, and the silencer, this weapon has its niche — especially as a budget rifle priced at just 70 Hunt Dollars.

Throughout the video, you’ll see how the 1865 Carbine performs with regular and FMJ ammo, how it handles in real combat situations, and how it stacks up against other budget rifles like the Ranger 73 and Centennial. I chose not to include subsonic ammo in this test due to its poor synergy with the rifle's already low velocity. My sidearm for this loadout was the Scottfield Spitfire, offering strong close-range performance while sharing ammo with the primary weapon for better efficiency, and even more close quarters potential when paired with the fanning trait.
