In this video, I explore the remains of this once-active parish church, its roofless stone walls, and the old burial ground that continued in use well into the 18th and 19th centuries.
Scattered among the graves are weathered headstones, table tombs, and a large family mausoleum built against the church itself — a stark reminder of how the dead were once laid to rest within sacred ground. Many of the graves have faded inscriptions, while others still whisper names and dates from hundreds of years ago.
Ballingaddy is one of those forgotten places that feels untouched by time. No crowds, no information boards — just silence, stone, and history slowly returning to the earth.
