L'Arcadia Amorosa, a journey into the profane side of the Italian seventeenth century through the works of various authors. The protagonists of this singular itinerary, committed to restoring the emotion of scores that reflect a creative world of considerable depth and musical value, are Marta Redaelli (soprano), Federico Fiorio (soprano), Niccolò Porcedda (baritone) and Alberto Maron (harpsichord).

To open the concert is a piece taken from La morte d'Orfeo by the Roman composer of the early seventeenth century Stefano Landi, followed by a selection of the most beautiful pages of Claudio Monteverdi, Barbara Strozzi, Orazio Tarditi, Pietro Antonio Giramo, Luca Marenzio, Giovanni Felice Sances and Luigi Rossi.

This last appointment of the Festival, dedicated to the memory of Luciano Pontalti, represents the occasion to discover pages rich in inspiration and feeling, ready to reveal themselves in their intense suggestion and poetry.

The set list of the concert follows a precise thematic plot. The first piece immediately plunges us into the kingdom of Arcadia, a place animated by the harmonious song of nature, a reflection of that celestial harmony of which Orpheus is the most famous symbol. From this almost fairy-tale setting, where conflicting passions always manage to reconcile harmoniously, the musical narrative develops following the theme of man's love, of his torments and of the eyes that drive lovers into a prison of love, where sometimes the constriction becomes unbearable and madness breaks the thread that binds the love of Arcadia and that of man. It is possible to overcome this tear by following the path of love which, freed from its excesses, allows us to rediscover a world of affection such as that between nymphs and shepherds, and sleep which becomes a place of momentary peace.

The concert unfolds between pages that reflect these different stages, in an articulated program that combines famous names with authors of more rare execution.
