At first I wanted to make a Romanogesrs What Dreams May Come AU, but unfortunately, I can't finish it. At least, not yet.

Storyline: After the battle of New York Steve can't remain an Avenger. It is too much, and he suffers from depression (there is a term even: functional depression), so he leaves Avengers. He goes through the motions, but one day someone who should be dead turns up on his doorstep. Bucky Barnes run away from Hydra and he does not want back, so there is only one thing to do - try and find Steve Rogers. Bucky doesn't remember him, even though he knows they used to be close. It is not hard to find that closesness again. But after a time Steve receives a warning call from Natasha, but before he and Bucky can run, Bruce Banner arrives them telling he is going to escort them to safety. As it turns out, 'safety' is a quinjet with all the Avengers, ready to protect their retured Captain and his boyfriend.
