SOUTHERNMOST POINT OF CONTINENTAL ASIA
Situated right on Palawan Beach, this tiny islet is accessible via a suspension bridge to bring one across to the Southernmost Point of Asia. Flanked by two viewing towers, the timber viewing deck offers an uninterrupted view of the South China Sea.
TUCKED AWAY ON THE SOUTHWESTERN coast of Singapore’s busy Sentosa Island is a tiny islet only accessible via a small suspension bridge from Palawan Beach. The bridge takes you across to Palawan Island which is considered the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia. It’s also considered Asia’s closest point to the equator.
However, the claim of being the southernmost point of continental Asia has been open to debate. Since the island is connected by a suspension bridge, it’s technically not part of continental Asia. There also happens to be another beach on Sentosa that is further south than Palawan Island.
There are two large wooden towers with a connected walkway, with viewing decks that make a great vantage point to see many ships and boats traverse the busy Singapore Strait.
