How to Make a Chef's Hat for Kids- Invade London

In this Week 6 video of Invade London I teach you how to make a Chef's Hat for your little cooking helper! What we like to do in my house is replay episodes of Olympic coverage and my son will select a country he wants to learn more about. We will do research online and find a recipe from that country that we can recreate in our home. This is a great and fun way to teach your kids about different cultures and countries around the world. We especially like to dress up when we cook together so my son loves to wear his chef hat. This project is great to make for your own kids or to give as gifts. They are especially awesome because they are unisex and can be totally embellished however your child would like.

The pattern used in this video tutorial is for a chef's hat that fits a child from 1- 5 yrs old. If you'd like to make a larger one just increase the length of band and the size of the poof on top.

The supplies you'll need are:
one 18" x 18" piece of fabric for hat top (for the poof)
one strip of fabric measuring 7" x 22" (for the headband)
one strip of lightweight/mediumweight fusible interfacing measuring ~8" x 23"
velcro measuring 3/4" x 3-4"
some kind of circle template to round of edges
cordinating thread
