Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive and ESG: What European Lawyers need to know

On 7 November 2024, the European Lawyers Foundation (ELF), in cooperation with the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), organised a webinar on the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and ESG.

Among the issues addressed during the webinar, there was first a general presentation on the CSDDD from the European Commission, plus further presentations about: lessons from CSDDD developments for practice and related ESG client advice; the evolving social responsibility of lawyers and law firms in the light of ESG developments; and the ethical implications of ESG obligations for lawyers and clients.
