Overall the set worked great like many of the other similar style ice cream makers I have shown. It is still a system that I see on videos currently in food markets and street vendors. This of course is a much smaller version then those! I think salt had gotten into the chamber when I tried the original flavor mix. I think that was the first thing I have ever had to spit out :) On the other hand, my chocolate coffee ice cream was very good and I enjoyed making it on video. It was interesting to see that they kept the little storage slot in the base, but did not add it to the set. Other then that the spoon changed a little and the bottom of the unit was slightly different as well. I know this is all small stuff, but I like to analyze the differences for future research or even people selling the pieces on eBay can use the video to date their version.
