Most people come to Ocho Rios, check into an all-inclusive resort, or hop off a cruise ship, do a couple of pre-packaged excursions... and then leave without ever really seeing Jamaica. But what if you ditched the itinerary? What if you skipped the cruise-approved tours and experienced Ochi through the eyes of locals — on your own terms?
We wanted to find out what Ocho Rios looks like without the wristband, without the buffet lines, without the gated beaches. What’s it like for travelers who want to support small businesses, or locals who just want to enjoy their own backyard without breaking the bank?
