Did you know that not every country’s borders are permanent, and that some are constantly changing?
One such border can be seen once we take a look at the border of France and Spain. More specifically, this extremely tiny island called Pheasant island has an extremely weird story surrounding it.
You see, the French-Spanish border should run right through the middle of the island, leaving half of it in the possession of each country.
However, this isn’t just any ordinary island. You see, this island has a history of being a diplomatic meeting place for the two countries, as the royal families of both Spain and France used to gather here frequently.
This unique status of the island lead to the agreement that from February to August every year, the island belongs to Spain, and for the next six months after that, ownership of the island is given to France. This doesn’t have too much affect on anybody because Pheasant island has a population of zero people.
